About the GeoVision GV-1120 DVR Card

GeoVision GV-1120 DVR Card

The Geovision GV-1120 DVR card is inserted into a slot on the motherboard inside a computer. It is a peripheral component interconnect local bus or PCI that when used with the supplied software provided can allow video surveillance of any area desired. Typically, people use the DVR card on home computers to provide security. Also called capture cards, the GeoVision GV-1120 dvr cards can also be used with GeoVision IP camera software to allow a combination surveillance system of closed circuit television (CCTV) camera and network image processing (IP) cameras.

What does the GeoVision GV-1120 DVR Card System allow users to do?

The DVR card can help to provide surveillance for your home or business and alert you if there is a problem. Depending upon how the camera is configured, the cards can allow recording only when motion is detected. Different areas can be chosen for the motion detection, allowing motion in "masked areas" without triggering the record mode. The area may also be recorded continuously based on a time schedule chosen. The recording is also stamped with the date and the time. A digital watermark is another benefit. This is inserted into the video being recorded and cannot be tampered with, which authenticates the video if it is needed for evidence in the event of a break-in or a robbery. The watermark identifies the copyright and ownership information.

In addition, live video of the area being monitored can be viewed while the system is still monitoring and recording. If motion is detected, notifications can be sent by email, to a pager, another computer or a telephone. The live video display allows users to display a full screen format on the computer or a multi-camera view. Switching between the modes is also possible. The supporting software allows Internet viewing from Blackberry mobile phones, iPhones and MAC and Windows computers. When viewing video that was previously recorded the ability to zoom in or out and around the area is possible. Frame by frame viewing is also an option, allowing more careful perusal of a certain part of the video that was recorded if needed.

Another advantage of the system is the software that supports editing for adjusting the sharpness, contrast, brightness and printability of the video. This allows optimal viewing. The video can be exported as an .avi file and each frame from the video can be exported in several formats including JPEG. The cards also allow audio to be recorded using external microphones or cameras that have built-in microphones. The audio can be played back matched to the corresponding video.

Text Message Alerts - Most people cannot be in one place 24/7, which is why the text messages alerts are a crucial part of this process. Anytime a motion is detected around your video surveillance, you have the opportunity to receive a text about it. This way you can alert the authorities or check it out yourself.

Email Alerts - If your phone won't except text messages, you can always receive an email if motion is detected. When motion is detected in the area that you define, you will get an email alert letting you know that motion was detected and that action may need to be taken.

Live Recording - GeoVision GV-800 owners also have the ability to utilize live recording. However, it can also be placed in motion detection mode "only." This can be setup through specific scheduling, which is great for when you're not home or it's used at a business when no one is there.

POS Integration - If you own a store or business and would like to record the sale transaction over the video, this system will easily accomodate it. What you will see is the video of the customer with the complete sale transaction overlayed onto the video. You can likewise conduct searches based on dollar amounts.
